North Shields is the traditional home of the Wooden Dollies. Shipowner and brewer Alexander Bartleman erected the first dolly, an old ship’s figurehead, in 1814. It became the custom for sailors to cut off slivers for good luck. To date there have been a total of six dollies.

Original artwork created by Helen Temperley using technical pen then coloured/collaged and finished digitally.

Prints are sold unframed and will fit any standard A3 or A4 size frame or mount.

A4 printed will be posted in a hard backed envelope for protection.
A3 print will be posted to you in a cardboard tube.
