This beautiful and simply designed range by Thomas Forester was produced during the Wartime Concentration Scheme, when UK pottery manufacturers were heavily restricted on production techniques and and pricing. The items I have are marked ‘A’, being produced between 1942-45. Forester’s were in the group 4 band of the scheme, with items restricted to a light/ivory body with clear glaze. This range has a simple trim of thin gold and orange bands on the rims, adding a bit of colour.
The plates are in nice condition, especially considering their age, but do have signs of past surface use and there is some wear to the gold trim on the rims. I have tried to show the condition in my photos and reflected in the price.
